The last studies I saw said that young children under the age of 8, shown violent content, become more aggressive and act out what they see in their relationships with other children (especially boys).
Thanks.Related Category: Games/Video_Games/ |

Actions viewed, taken, and suggested influence children more than anything else. Emotions are our psychological window to the outside would. If that window is broken, for example a father abusing a child, the victim will be more likely to become what broke the window. When you hear someone say "I love that game!" and its a game where people are mutilated, slaughtered, or mauled, it makes you think, what kind of person will he grow up to be?Related Category: _________________ RADIX OMNIUM MALORUM CUPIDITAS EST

get real. like the old saying "guns dont kill people, people kill people" the same can be said for video games, and all other forms of media today. parents have the ability to teach their children what fantasy is and is not. I should know, im a mother of a son. if a child is raised with good morality and knows video games are just that-GAMES-youngsters will be find.Related Category: |

Sorry this is going to be long
So violence in video games, good or bad. Personally I don't care, I love a good gore game, plus anything to do with stealth kills, head explosions, and the all mighty fav. the cat silencer...What has this world come too when I can't play a good and simple gore game, come on, if these political idiots get there way and ban our favorite games what next, ban the internet, or books even (which in some states and county’s they already have put bans on certain books not meaning porn I mean Literature). I think parents and the "board of whatever (political idiots)" should do some serious research on this subject and not just call out something that might have a MINOR affect on our youth. In my personal opinion it's the parents fault for buying the violent game/s for the child and not take into account that the game is STRICTLY for MATURE audience. The other thing I think is funny is that there is a web site, and or reading material on the nature of certain games, like for instance the games official web site, and in most cases on the games official web site there’s a link to the ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board), which gives you even more data about what the ratings of the game mean. Movies, and Television have violent themes just as games do and I will stress that parents need to inform there children on the conduct in any form of entertainment. If Movies, Television, and Video games are the now the sole thing that makes the youth of our country corrupt then I’m sorry that people are so thick headed. Sports in any form are violent, so why not blame them. I would like to point out that celebrities (in the sport lights) can contribute to violent behavior in people. Look in the news articles for the Basketball incident that got an entire team into a fight. Baseball, Hockey, Football, hell NASCAR even can contribute to violent behavior. There are so many issues to bring up that its not funny, other counties have dealt with violent histories, war in many cases. Countries around the world (this is excluding America) have had governments and laws in place longer than the United States has been a country. There is no ban on Movies, Television, or Video Game violence in other countries, hell there’s 24 hours of porn shown daily on Network TV. If we researched how people from other countries look at violence in their culture we could find the way to break this “Political NON-cense” on banning Media violence. Sorry for the rant and rave. Politicians, parents and other community leaders have the heads up an area that I wish not to say. Hope you had fun reading this…Oh and kill something…I mean on a video game and not in real life.Related Category: |

Im just a lurker you probably will not see me again.
/rant on
Anyway I'm writing this because video games are getting alot of bad press. You see people are very quick to put blame on something without looking deeper. For example: Lets just say that some kids go crazy and shoot up a school and its found that a common factor between these kids are violent video games. OK well then people go poo poo about video games and don't take a freaking millisecond to think deeper as to why they went crazy and killed people.
OK yes when someone veiws violence either on movies games or whatever the more you see the more you get desensitized. But ratings are there for a reason. ANYWAY back to the crazy kids. Did anyone think that thier parents might be more of a cause than the games? Yes parents. Im not saying that the parents were abusive. Maybe they were, but alot of parents do not discipline thier kids at all. So when someone grows up never being disciplined they never learn that there are consequences to their actions. So when they do something like go crazy and kill people aka. Columbine. they don't expect retaliation.
Now everyone has a vice for some its smoking for others its drinking or whatever. For me its video games the more gory the better and as someone else here said the Cat Silencer is FRIGGIN AWESOME. Anyway if you catch your kid smoking most parents would go poo poo take the cig out of thier hands and make em regret it. Any decent parent would. Now psycologists know that untill a child is 6 or 7 yrs old they cannot tell reality from fantacy knowing this why wouldnt a DECENT parent stop thier kids from playing these games or at least monitor what games they play?
/rant off , sorta
FYI Germany has cracked down so hard on video games that when you do shoot something it MUST NOT look human and it must bleed green blood if any blood at all. If that happens in the US I guess ill have to go underground for my fix.Related Category: |
