I've been a self-appointed spam link remover on the Ruby Programming language Wiki. If you scan the "Recent Changes" for comments like "link removal", or "spam removal", you will find that they are getting attacked badly and daily.
I like the idea of having guests post, but I suggest that we add code that if you are not a registered user and you want to post something, you have to pass a CAPTCHA dialog (user enters text presented in image graphic format to confirm they are not a bot). We could have some text telling them that if they register they won't have to bother with the CAPTCHA entry.
Otherwise we will have to spend a lot of time finding and cleaning up link and forum spam.
As usual, if you need help implementing this (CAPTCHA for guests), let me know.

Is it possible to make some rooms here open to the general public and others members only? Maybe allow everyone to read all the posts, but only be able to post in certain rooms.
Just a thought.
