dutch (I'd prefer to name it Nederlands, because Dutch means German if you look it through historical glasses) use the same alphabet as the english,
there are not very much used words with 'umlauts' in Nederlands like 'Verenigd Koninkrijk van Groot-Brittannië en Noord-Ierland' (United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) you see there are two nederlands letters in this sentence: the combination letter 'ij' (y-umlaut) are just a 'i' and a 'j', Nederlands people would recognize that as an y and not an y-umlaut, so that's not a problem for both English and Nederlands people. But also ther is an 'ë' as used in some plurals and country names like Groot-Brittannië, België, Roemenië, Italië and so forth.
the 'ï' is also rare in Nederlands (words like 'maïs' (corn/maize) and reïntegratie (reintegration). this letter could be replaced by an 'i'
I hoped to inform you well about the 'strange Dutch language, it's like Old Greek'. while it's the language next door (closest language to english).
