A father living here in the Waikato, NZ got his father's day present three days late when his son became the golfing world's number one. For those who haven't heard, Vijay Singh is now the world's best golfer after beating Woods at the Deutsche Bank Championship.
Tiger Woods has had a long reign as the world's number one golfer and his caddy has become New Zealand's highest-paid sportsperson. If I remember rightly, Woods made an appearance at the NZ Golf Open thanks to some encouragement from his kiwi caddy, but ended up being beaten by Aussies who took all the top places.
So, how do you feel about Singh's victory?Related Category:Sports/Golf/

Personally, I like to see the top ranked have some competition, and get beat once and awile. Although it can also be interesting watching 1 man win over and over again, like Lance Armstrong. I guess it depends on the athlete.
New Zealand's highest paid sportsperson doesn't even play professional international sport. He's Tiger Woods' caddy. Shows you how much money there is in golf (as opposed to rugby union, rugby league, cricket, netball and softball.)Related Category:

That's what I thought when I first heard it. But it turns out he is considered a "sportsperson" because he plays a sport, participates in the sport and earns money from the sport.Related Category:
