Most alternative medicine is snake oil stuff - iridology, aromatherapy, crystals, magnets, prayer etc and in fact a lot of traditional medicine is not much better at times. However there is a spiritual side to life and it is a way of humans gaining comfort through easing thought processes (obesity is a classic example - comfort food). All of us need something to manage the fear of illness, death and loss.
Physical abnormalities do respond to chemicals, minerals, heat, possibly magnetic force and working out the ones that really work and those that don't is the challenge of true scince and evaluation. However if there is money to be made you can be pretty certain those in need will pay for it even if just well marketed.
It always amazes me how people can complain about getting effective drugs for $40 or so (not USA prices!!!) and then walk next door and buy crystals, magnets or oils and massages for hundreds of dollars and get nothing but a good feeling plus the belief or hope that it is doing them some good. Faith is an amazing force in human existence - wars are made of it as are great buildings, organisations, service industries etc.
Having said all that every now and then some traditional medicine shows promise and as we get into the genome of plants and animals we will find incredible advances for human health. The majority of us just do not take the time to learn what others have discovered and we take the easy banter of the salesman and marketer as truth of life. This will be the power of the OEP. i think that alternative methods are kind of all the same ..i mean...everything depends on you....if you think it helps you, then it will do miracles!Related Category:
