Leadership Styles  Reply with quote

In a business environment, which leadership styles do you find to be the most effective? Autocratic, democratic, or laissez-faire?

*IF* you're working with a mature dedicated group of self-starters (like the OEP editors Smile), laissez-faire. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Otherwise, autocratic.

Monarchy, oligarchy, matriarchy, anarchy. Just needs a little music eh? Smile

Laissez-Faire Leadership is great for while but it often leads to incorrect decisions if the work is complex.

I have found that a Democratic Consultative Leadership often is most beneficial.

If you treat all the staff with contempt you shouldnt be shocked when your new plans for an invention are leaked to your biggest competitor. Shocked

none if you ask me.
All good managers are born not raise and they must fit 100% to get some results. If you get Bill (Microsoft Bill that is) to run a oil company for sure they will hit the ground within the first year Laughing

I am not sure if my message is clear but still.

After my opinion in the business environment the leader must be authoritative and distant.
